Keeping Up with GAIA-BT
June 24, 2026 | GAIA-BT
On June 24th (Wednesday), GAIA-BT (led by CEO Yun Kyoung Kang), an AI-native anticancer drug development company, signed a research and development contract with Cyron Therapeutics (led by CEO Sangsoon Yoon), a company specializing in antibody discovery and development, for the optimization of anticancer therapeutic drug candidates. This contract follows Cyron Therapeutics’ selection as the lead institution for the South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s 2026 Regional Innovation Cluster Development (R&D) Opportunity Development Zone project, under which the two companies have begun a development collaboration to advance the “E-MASK TA-MUC1 ADC” platform.
Under this contract, GAIA-BT will be responsible for the optimization of anticancer drug candidates held by Cyron, using the Optimization Agent of its multi-agent drug development "K-GEM™" platform. The AI agent will perform multi-parameter optimization that simultaneously considers multiple drug properties such as binding affinity, stability, and developability, and automatically derives prioritiy candidates for subsequent validation.
Through this collaboration, the two companies aim to shorten the development cycle—from candidate derivation through to validation—by combining Cyron Therapeutics’ antibody discovery capabilities with GAIA-BT’s AI optimization technology.
A word from the two contract parties:
GAIA-BT CEO Yun Kyoung Kang stated, “This contract is significant in that it represents a case where K-GEM’s optimization agent is applied to an actual anticancer pipeline,” adding, “Through collaboration with Cyron Therapeutics with its proven antibody technology, we will demonstrate the effectiveness of AI-based drug candidate optimization.”
A representative of Cyron Therapeutics said, “By introducing AI agent technology into the optimization stage of our drug candidates, we expect to improve both the speed and precision of development.”
ABOUT CYRON THERAPEUTICS
Cyron Therapeutics is a company selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ “2026 DIPS 1000+ Startup Project.” Specializing in antibody-based therapies, Cyron has developed a multispecific antibody platform based on CD3-targeting T-cell Engagers. It has earned recognition for its technical capabilities in the anticancer field, including signing a joint research agreement with Celltrion for multispecific antibody anticancer drugs.
ABOUT GAIA-BT AND THE K-GEM™ PLATFORM
GAIA-BT is an AI-native company certified as a AI Membership Company by the Gyeonggi Business & Science Accelerator (GBSA). Joining biology expertise with cutting-edge artificial intelligence, GAIA-BT has developed the K-GEM™ platform, along with "GAIA-Elix," an agent specialized for functional-materials and biomaterials research, and "GAIA-Onco," an agent specialized for cancer therapeutics research. It has consolidated its technical and research capabilites in the oncology space, including signing a joint research agreement with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for cancer drug development.
GAIA-BT’s K-GEM™ is a platform that aspires to be an “end-to-end drug development OS,” designed so that multiple AI agents autonomously connect and carry out the entire drug development process. It boosts development efficiency through multi-agent orchestration, rather than being a single-model-based tool.
